Pride Month 2022

Pride Month 2022

Project Overview

In the interests of expanding my passions around education and identity, I joined the Diversity and Inclusion Committee at Territory. During my time on this committee, I worked with the broader team on several projects including AAPI Month, Black History Month, and Pride.

For Pride month particularly, I volunteered to spearhead our internal efforts to help promote an inclusive work environment

Problem Statement
Due to the remote nature of the organization, the team needs to feel supported in their individual identities while simultaneously feeling supported by the organization as a whole. Ideally, we would seek for the company at large to make a sizable donation to the LGBTQIA+ community but because of extenuating circumstances, that was not possible.

Solution
With the help of our Culture Club and a few key team members, I put together a selection of resources, organizations, and learnings to be shared via Slack periodically throughout the month of June. Additionally, I coordinated with another team member to run a LGBTQ+ Jeopardy Game at the end of the month. Finally, to solve our donation conundrum, I created a limited release illustration based T-Shirt to be given to employees who donate to LGBTQ organizations throughout the month.
