Purcell's Oysters

Purcell's Oysters

Project Overview

The Purcell family has been selling oysters in Virginia since 1972. Looking to update some of their packaging and brand a few of their unique oysters we collaborated on brand identities for both Lucky Lab and Bayman’s Bounty.

Challenge
Create a compelling logo illustration that highlights the personalities of the products and that fits within regulatory guidelines. Additionally, the client requested that although these are two distinct products, they should feel at home together and include the Purcell name featured prominently.

Solution
Working with my AD, I created a selection of thumbnails for multiple products. Of the pitched identities, Lucky Lab and Bayman’s Bounty were selected to move forward. From there, we created another refined set of drawings providing a client with 2-3 directions for each. Colors and typography were inspired by the film Yellow Submarine and vintage Tobacco packaging.
